Fixem
Love those Cobolts, nice pics, I don't have any, makes me want to go get some! Now, those Black spots on the yellows......are any of you guys feeding a lot of color bits or similar formulas? Some of my Yellows had those markings and after increasing the vegeflakes and only giving colourbits now and then, the black has dissapeared and they are a nice clear yellow Of course it may be in the breeding, but maybe try increasing the Veggie flakes and see

sab
Gee those yellows are black... What's their general diet ? hi all thanks for the comments! as far as the diet for the E yellows (and the rest of them!!) go, I try and vary it from day to day. The food I use is as follows: staple (usually fed every day morning or evening): Aqualife Cichlid Pellets or Aqualife Vegetable pellets (alternated) once every three days (instead of the above): OSI Spirulina pellet or tetra spirulina flake every now and then: Hikari Cichlid Gold pellets maybe once a week: Tetra Colour bits maybe once every two weeks: frozen brine shrimp also feed fresh veges (bok choy or peas or pumpkin or zucchini etc.) maybe once a week I think they get fed better than me! LOL! kind of strange tho the dark patches on only two of the E Yellows - the two smalelr ones are prefect (maybe female?). And it comes and goes too (sometimes withina few minutes!) - its almost like their display colour/marking. Other than that they are great characters! cheers again sab aka Steve

Barca888
Well i know for sure that sometimes the blackness is stress related as my smallest yellow got picked on in the smaller tank and had the yucky black. Upon transfering to a bigger tank it all went away. The smaller tank was quite dark and the bigger one was bright so that might have a thing or two to do about it.
