Buccal
25 years ago, I kept a heap of congos with elec yellows and cobalt blues, with clown loaches and a Archer fish. And no probs.
Ageofaquariums
I think 25 years ago we all kept African cichlids with congo tetra. In our defence that was then the norm. As was people tasting rift lake aquarium water to convince themselves that it was actually a freshwater aquarium. These days you are more likely to see scissor tail rasbora or spanner barbs. Although this is often an attempt at adding target fish to reduce aggression on females.

none
Demasoni are not a fish I'd be mixing with Congos...... Demasoni aggression and long fin Tetras - not going to end well
Ageofaquariums
Congos are not exactly genius fish. They dont tend to learn to respect territory, so cop a lot of hits.
