sam.apo
Hi i have a 6x2x2 cichlid tank. With the standard bulkhead flow from one end across the top down to the weir and through a 4ft sump. I am finding it difficult to keep the water clear. The filter is not taking all the waste out of the water. It seems the top just gets skimmed of waste not the overall tank I was thinking of placing an extra wavemaker/ flow fan to try and flow more of the base of the tanks water up toward the weir. Has any one has a similar problem? Grateful for any tips to improve flow& filtration. Thanks Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk

PlecoSam
My sump is a centre weir, the water comes up from the pump through the weir and I put a 45 degree bend down, this way fresh water is pumped down forming two rising spiral pools. Water does not bypass it goes down round then up into the weir, poo does settle in the corners of the tank which I vacuum weekly, two wave makers would help keep the poo in suspension for me but I don't want to spend the electricity. TangmanSam
Add a power head to create an upward flow towards the weir, should move more of your dirtier water through to the sump
