Alex
Hi Just a quick pic of a native that I feel is quite underrated in the hobby - Snakehead Gudgeon aka Rainbow Mud Cod. Very placid fish, but a guts at feeding time hoovering up pellets a dozen at a time.
Phenomena
Nice looking fish there. Unfortunately they're hard to get here even though they're natives. I guess not much demand.
Alex
Yeah, I hadn't seen them available in Perth for many years until a new LFS put them on a list on PCS. So I grabbed a couple (pair). Unfortunately the bass that hey live with didn't take too kindly to the female and she was killed suddenly. The male on the other hand has done very well. It is strange that their isn't more interest in this fish - they are very colourful for a native, grow to a decent size and are very mellow in nature. Overall very easy to care for. Bradc
Are male and females both colourful? I seen a few in sydney about a year ago and were very plain in appearance. But that 1 looks very nice
Alex
Only the males are colourful, the females are a drab brown colour.
