Staplez
Hello ACE forum uses.I'm by no means experienced in the field of water, so I've been doing some very basic research into the water from a local source compared to the water of the main tank population, that are Lake Malawi's.Before I hear anyone say anything about the water I'm aiming for please be advised that I understand my stock isn't wild and I don't need to match closely to anything I've researched into, but please understand that fish don't evolve in short periods of time and this is the reason I'm looking to not closely match but have similar water to there natural area. From these charts and basic knowledge that most of us understand. I'm using the following to buffer my water:Sodium Bicarbonate Magnesium SulfateCalcium CarbonateMarine Salt (trace elements)Something I'm missing or overlooked? Is there another item other then Magnesium Sulfate to raise GH easily or shouldn't I worry? Will Sodium Bicarbonate and a little Marine salts result in to much salinity? So far, so good. Adding the above to meet the basic water parameters in regards to a solid PH, KH and GH that are holding over 10 days.
Staplez
More info on the next stage that I'm still waiting to setup up is in my sump, that includes bags of shells and limestone to help buffer.
