CommandoAndo
So I started doubting myself on the exact species I have here and started looking around online. I think I probably have a Greshaki but I am terrified it could be a hybrid. Does anyone have any input? This is the dominant male. When breeding he goes almost white with the faint bars still. Thanks for your help!

CommandoAndo
My only reason for questioning it is because his bars are darker than some other specimens I have seen. Do you guys think so? Or is he just a darker guy than some?
intangcity
could it be from his mood?water paremeters?look at black calvus sometimes you would swear they are whites and have to look again.are you able to track back to where the parents came from? CommandoAndo
Unfortunately I can't track back. I got them at the LFS, who has always been trustworthy though. It could well be his mood though. He is generally quite excited because of the females, and a little male competition. I'm generally pretty careful with water, but I will check again. Thanks! JonFishin
Looks a lot like the Greshaki I had many years ago. The bars look normal to me. The only thing that does draw my attention is the length of the pectoral fins. Still a good looking fish though.
CommandoAndo
Thanks for the input! The more research I do, the more convinced I am that they are Greshaki. Thanks for your perspective!
