Brownfish
Hi all, following on from the great substrate debate and what type to use. The next question is how much of it to use. I have heard people say not more than an inch or two because you want to avoid pockets of noxious gas but what does that translate to in kgs per square foot. I figure that I would need at least 50-60 kg for an 8x2x2 tank. I'm going shopping tomorrow and so would really appreciate a guide to how much I need. Just to be sure, I am using light diffuser on the bottom to stop rocks going through the glass... I promise you guys some photos when it is all cycled and fished up in a couple of week's time. Cheers Richard
