Go to bunnings.

Selleys does one specially recommended for tanks.

A blue colored tube with a picture of a fish tank on it.

I built 140 aquariums and a 2800 liter display that's a meter deep !!! Using this silicone.

I have used Selleys Glass Silicone as it is an acetic acid curing silicone and is for aquarium construction. It is the one Buccal recommended.

The Bostic V2 is also suitable for aquariums as it too is a acetic curing silicone. Other brands to look at are GE and Dow Corning

HB Fuller produce a acetic aquarium safe silicone called HBF 620. If is was to do another tank I would probably look at the V2

If your building or reconstructing a tank bigger than a 6x2x2, then considering what type of silicone is best is reasonable.

As larger deeper tanks need careful thinking and joint strength.

When building or reconstructing tanks of 6x2x2 or smaller,, looking at better quality silicones with minimal extra strength is neither here nor there.

Paul all the ones mentioned will do the job.

Have a look at CRL of Sydney (9 Shale Place Eastern Creek, NSW (02) 9851-3444) as the supplier of V2. I would give them a call and they may be able to help.
