frontoes
One of my female WC Frontosa Kitumba is getting beaten badly by other females and her dorsal fins are ripped with a scaly body with white markings. At the moment I only has 3 females and one male, it seems that there is more tension with the females than the males. Does anyone know what I can do to minimise the female fights and treat her body? damoq
It's best to take her out of the tank if you have another tank you can house her in temporarily and treat her with melafix. When she heals take all of the rocks etc out if the tank before you re-introduce her to the colony to disrupt territories and that should minimise aggression. I find with my colonies they start becoming aggressive during spawning time so hopefully yours are trying to breed and you might get some fry soon. You didn't mention your tank size but I would suggest nothing smaller than 6x2x2 for adult frontosa even for a relatively small colony like yours!
