frankenstrat
it seems the same just bigger, has anyone had any experience with k3?
frankenstrat
Only my own observation, but it obviously has more surface area for bacteria to adhere but it doesn't tumble/flow/move around as well as K1 does
benno84
think k3 is usually used for ponds prob just designed for larger areas and more flow
Buccal
There are situations where k1 is to small and gets into places that's not wanted.K3 being bigger is easier to contain.K1 has actually more surface area per liter as its smaller and in nature keys in closer,,,, a little more k1 can also be used in a given space.K3 requires a few more watts and/or agitation to keep it tumbling.I use k1 on cichlid sumps.I use k3 on stingray sumps due to unwanted k1 getting into silly places. So they are virtually as good as each other,,, you just need to choose according to your predicament.
