Cichlabxr
Hi, Just watched a film about Lake Malawi. Apart from being fascinated by the numbers of fish it mentioned the currents and water disturbance in the lake.I have often thought about using a wavemaker , well a pump to cause some sought of disturbance and current just above the substrate. Does anybody do or has anybody done this and have you noticed a difference with your fish??
Ged
I used to have two internal power filters installed in my tank at opposite ends. This created a nice flow which was directed across the back of a rock wall which then distributed the currents in several directions. The fish loved to swim in and out of the currents/There were two other advantages, increased filtration of the tank and the accumulation of rubbish into a couple of spots in tank, which allowed for easy cleaning. Cichlabxr
Thanks Ged. That was my thinking the creation of currents and eddys created by the rocks in the tank. Not sure which pump to use. Luckily I have a couple on hand, small ones, so will do a few trials.
