JamesSouth
I bought two SAE's a week ago and they have been in my quarantine tank. Last night when I went to feed them I noticed that one of the has this red mark on just one side of its head. It's feeding ok still. Anyone have any ideas what it could be?? andrew.vid
hi, if it is around the gill area which it looks to me like it is, then it could be ammonia, as ammonia can make the gills go a bit red but i don't think it should make it go that red. is it by itself in the quarantine tank? JamesSouth
Hi Andrew, It's with another SAE, 12 Serpaes and 4 Red Eye Tetras that were all bought on the same day and none of them are showing this problem. The quarantine tank is a long established 3' tank that I always keep 10+ guppies in.

Topogigio
looks like a bump, that is now manifesting itself... could have been caused during netting (he may have been squashed a little)... if he is eating, then hopefully it shouldnt be anything too serious.
