pat williamson
Hi I noticed a batch of peppermint eggs today . The only other fish in the tank is 2 x medium whiptails do you think they would pose any threat to the baby peps ?. I am thinking that they will probably be ok. What do you guys reckon regards Pat. pat williamson
Thanks for the advice unfortunately the male Peppermint forced my hand as he kicked most of the eggs out of the log. So I gathered them into a fry saver , they are just out of the egg , only a small batch of about 20. Any ideas on what to feed them when the yolk sacks are all gone ?. YAL05T
I grind up nls wafer until they are near 1cm, it seems to be easier for them to all get a share that way. I have also had better results when I added some waste from the males log (only when hatching from eggs away from the male). I believe that they ingest some bacteria from the waste materials that assist them with their mainly vego diet. Works for me. Whiptails dont really present a threat to anything that moves, kicked eggs may get eaten but fry of all sizes are safe.
