Batty
How often should I be feeding my convict fry? It took nearly 3 months for the second spawn, now they are here I don't want to lose them all.
mathobes
I feed my fry smallish amounts 5 times a day. Crushed flake and brine shrimp. They shoot up quick and I rarely have deaths. I have never raised convicts though. I clean the bottom of their tank daily with airline tube. By doing that you pick up crap from the bottom without taking much water. I usually have a small bn catfish with them to pick up any scraps.
killiguy
Ideally 5x/day with daily water changes; but impractical for most people.High activity or metabolism fry like rainbows or killis Id say twice daily minimum. For cichlids esp if with their parents once daily would do(twice daily is better) as they forage and eat plenty of algae and tank critters. I raise cichlids for the wholesale market and feed twice daily with BBS initially then wean onto prepared foods
Batty
OK thanks, I will feed before work and some time in the evening. They are still in with the parents.
