MR NATIVE
i just had 30 longfins shipped up from a melboure farm where water temps are around 8d in their ponds ive put them straight into 26d water no worries the only thing is they eat a lot more all im trying to say is water temperature is not a big issue with eels weather its -5d or 30+d they are fine also transfer over 2 days is as well the worst thing would be where it was hooked add a bit of salt he will be fine
gianniz
eels are bloody hardy fish and won't die easily and can aclimatize to practically any conditions. go to wisemans ferry and you can catch heaps of these from 10cm + 1metre size.
fishguts
I've got one about 60cms. Icaught it in the local creek on prawn. I brought it home and put into my 8x2x2. it still had the hook in its mouth. It started feeding immediately. the hook fell out about two weeks later. that was about six months ago. IT will be fine.. I dont Know... some people amuse me. they write in looking for advice and all they want to do is find reasons why something wont work or you cant do. Shanon knows what he's talking about. Why do you insist on arguing with him? Haven't you got a wife? Temperature isn't an issue with these creatures. they are tough MF's. Dont worry ... be happy, you have a nice speciman of an unusual fish

Hahaha dont let me begin on how much trouble it put me through, so many sleepless nights from it banging against the lids, sometimes it will fit its body half way out and give me a fright but then slide back in , theyre quite freaky to be honest. good thing i got rid of it
