I should have called it a Synodontas eupterus. I am not sure is the spelling is correct. This fis can happily live in a 3 foot tank with lots of others including both Africans and Americans. They are very hardy. The females get really fat and the males are thinner. (It must be an egg thing). They are robust and territorial but fiarly safe to have in a community tank.
