Scienceman
At first I thought this was a physical injury caused by hitting rocks at night and fighting but now it has gotten worse and has developed under the eye as well. The eye is also swollen. I can only think that it is a bacterial infection that is eating into the tissue. He is off his food and I am facing having to put him down if it doesnt get better soon. I have added rock salt to 1g/L but dont know what else to do. Any suggestions?
Maskedman
Could be Pop-eye, but it's too hard to tell in these pics to be sure. The photos need to be clearer to tell what it might be with any confidence. If you can't post clearer pics I would suggest catching the fish & taking it down your LFS & see what they reccomend. kilroy
If it's popeye then it is definitely past the point where the eyes can be brought back to normal. The flesh is actually exposed. I don't think it is looking good for this fish. You can treat with Waterlife Myxazin and see how that goes.
