Alto Calvus and Lighting

I was just doing a little research on Altolamprologous Calvus on the internet and found an interesting article. Some of you may have read it already.

The author of the article is using a 16hr lighting cycle for the fish to breed. I thought calvus are secretive spawners? Also there may be algae growth problems?

From what I have heard from some local breeders, they do not use lighting at all or minimal lighting. I was wandering if anyone had success at breeding them using this 16hr light cycle.
