chorrylan
he he just saw something I've never seen in the fishroom before (and I've seen a few things... ) A male bristlenose had obviosuly kicked a small clump of eggs out of his cave (that part isn't all that unusual) and the good little mum was repeatedly nudging the eggs back in again (that part I have never seen before). At first I though she was snacking on the eggs but watching her for a while showed she was stopping them (there was a fair bit of current so they were moving) then nudging them along for 4 or 5cm back to the cave then trying to nudge them past the old fella who was obstinately blocking her so they've slide away again. Pretty amazingly she obviously understood a bit about current flow as she knew how to push them upstream... I watched them repeat the sequence twice then dropped the eggs into a tumbler. What species is she? just a garden variety bristlenose which I guess makes her the fishy equivalent of a mongrel.
