Hi Lee, congratulation first that you have a good colony,

however this is my advice, one male for that many females, you are wasting your time.

first if the females are prolific, your male not able to handle the breeding cycles, from my experience, best male can spawn maximum every 3 weeks on regular basic if you are lucky, overload with females the male wont be handle with your females,

second some female might become your pest , that is she will disturb the breeding of the other females. sometimes you will find that taken a particular female out of your tank the others will breed even more regularly,

third is over populated fish, your fry will be hard to rear,

and more reasons from my many years experience

I think you best to split the females into 3 colonies,

so buy 2 more males,

anyway, all the best for breeding,

and cheer mate,

Lee, from Sydney.

i agree with smallfish. if you don't have another tank and your tank is big enough say 4foot. I suggest get yourself atleast another male. (its also not a bad idea to get a spare male)

have fun and good luck

PS check perthcichlid forum as they have alot of info on breeding peps.
