parkesg Posted August 25, 2008 Share Posted August 25, 2008 Hi All, New to BN catfish and have been reading a bit about them. I can't seem to find a definative answer re space requirments. From your experiences how many adult BN (does it matter what type? normals, LF etc) can I have in a 3*1 (l*w)? What would be an acceptable ratio of male to females? rosco Posted August 25, 2008 Share Posted August 25, 2008 Grant, I have heaps of BN adults (maybe 2-3 males 5-6 females) in a 2x18x18 with multiple caves to choose from. I have big shells BN caves (like Matthew makes) turned over tank ornaments (like Easter statues) anything that looks cave like, even holes in wood would do. I use bare bottom tanks with air driven sponges and have heaps of wood in the tnak. It is also good for the girls to have plenty of hidey holes as they can fight if 2 want to breed at the same time. As for the males\female ratio I would recommend at least 2 males maybe 3.
