glo
Hi, I have 2 geo tanks that sit on the top row of a rack where the sump is at the bottom. Each tank has a thin layer of sand. I very rarely siphon from these top tanks - usually do my water changes out of the 2 bottom layers and I don't seem to find I have a problem with the build up of fish poo in the geo tanks. Just wondering what sort of experiences other geo owners have had. Thanks Glo
Lonx
Pretty much the same situation here but with 2-3mm gravel.... I used to try and vacuum it every time but now only every now and then because its always so clean.
mcloughlin2
I would imagine you would have clean gravel due to the geo's stirring the gravel up numerous times, allowing the filter to pick up all the waste. I think a quick gravel clean is still a must - just incase.
mianos
Same here. The 2-3mm gravel in one tank is always clean and the sand in the other is. On the other hand the filter wool gets very black very quickly.
