Other Ed
I am wondering about setting up an airpump on my rack, but am thinking that if I have one pump for the four tanks (2 on top and 2 on the bottom) that if the pump stops the water may siphon out from the top tank and overfill the bottom tanks /flood /dead fish /etc. I have used check valves (one way valves) before but think they reduce the airflow and make the pump louder. should I just put one pump for the top tanks and another for the bottom? Whats your experience with check valves and flow regulators? TIA Ed.
PHL
No need; just have the gang valve situated above the levels of the highest tank, and perhaps have a few loops after the valve but before the tank to ensure water does not siphon out.
