Ash
On the Purigen FAQ on Seachem's site, they say Amine based slime coat treatments foul the purigen & make it non-rechargable. Aquastar includes a slime coat but the label doesn't say if it's Amine based or not. Has anyone here safely recharged Purigen using Aquastar as their dechlorinator, both for waterchanges & the recharging process? I don't want to drop the coin on purigen if it's only usable once. Cheers & beers Ash
Ash
C'mon, there's gotta be somebody who has tried this combo? Edit: This thread on the Seachem forum (I didn't see it due to the forum's default 30 day thread cutoff ) states you can use whatever dechlorinator in the tank, the only time you need to make sure not to use amine based stuff is during the recharging process - so to be safe I can use prime for just that job & keep the cheaper stuff for the waterchanges. huzzy
Ash, I could not find a single resource that listed amine in aquastar. I would assume that is does not contain amine. Good luck. H.
