Fixing scratches on inside glass

I have not tried this but i have read on posts that you can use either tooth paste or a special paste that Jewellers use. Sorry cant remember the name but i am guessing a chat to your nearest jeweller might be worth the time.

As far as I've been told these will only work on really fine scratches, if you can run your finger or nail over and feel the scratch there isn't really much you can do. I used toothpaste on one that I had (a very deep one sad.gif ) and it took the edge off but didn't really make any difference.

If you are really worried about it and it's a display tank I would save this one for the garage and buy a new one...

Someone told me recently hydrochloric acid works, (chloric/flouric, I would have guessed diluted flouric as in toothpaste...flouride??)

Not sure in the truth in this if anyone can confirm?
