Chuckmeister
Hey Fishhouse, I use Praziquantel as well. Be sure to follow the directions and follow through with the second treatment. I didn't the first time as they looked ok, only to be reinfested a week or two later.
fishouse
Well that sounds the best so far, was also so told formalin is good, can anyone shed some light on it? Thanks again Adrian
kevkoi
Formalin will wipe out ur filtration bacteria as well... Very harsh stuff. U might kill the gill flukes, but u'd also wipe out any form of filtration u have left on the tank, so u might kill the flukes, but u'll also run the risk of killing the fish form Amonia poisoning! cookie
Hi Guys, I use as detailed below 5ml for a 4 ft tank. You can add up too 10 ml but take it slowly. Watch the fish for stress if starting to stress 50% water change straight away. You hit the fluke on days 1,3,5 with Formalin followed by your water changes. Days 2,4,6 leave the tank alone. I had a big a problem with L.permutt now that I used this they are fine. Look at your water carefully and you can see the stuff that has come from the fish. I have used this on rare fish and have never lost a fish yet. However do be careful when using it. This is the best for killing gill fluke. You can alos add Methelene Blue for a better mixture. Just make shore on your mixture ratios. It CAN be LETHAL if mixed wrong. HTH
