Aussie_Legend
I have a pleco thats a few years old and i want to move it to my new tank which has been going for a few weeks now. Can anyone tell me how sensitive they are to varying water conditions? i havent been able to test the water yet. Just want to know how careful i should be when moving the pleco and adding it to my new tank. Is there anything i can do to speed up the cycle process? Sarah
ideally the water in the new tank should be the same ph or close to the one its in already, they are not that fussy but if the ph is slightly higher or lower then you want to acclimatise the pleco slowly, there are products on the market, like cycle, bio start, and amtrite down that introduce bacteria to your tank, if you are unable to use an aged filter or some gravel or water from your exisiting tank. cheers
