long finned bn genetics

Dan,

All I can tell you is it is not recessive. Nor is it totally dominant.

I am still to discover whether it is co-dominant, sex linked or what ever.

Fry from Longfin X normal fin parents show Longfin, normal fin and inermediate forms at the moment, but they have a long way to grow yet for any real conclusions.

Thanks for the reply Alan.

I'd be interested in your results after a little more time.

I'm thinking about gettin some and growing them up then trying to breed them to test this theory.

The only thing is patience smile.gif dunno how long that will last LOL.gif

thanks

Dan

I have even found that you get this sort of result when you cross them back to a normal BN.

Cheers

There is no "L" number for Longfin Bristle Nose as it is just the same as the albinos, a man made variation of an ancistrus catfish that was being bred in the aquarium world long before "L" numbers came into existance.

It could almost be called a domesticated species these days.

Alan.

PS. put it in the same catagory as guppies, swordtails, angle fish and discus,,man made.
