snowrider
I have a pair of N. Venustus in a 4ft and 18 by 18 tank. I would like to know what else i can keep with them or if you keep N. Venustus what else do you keep with them? Thank you
Ash
more girls Other species? Hrm, my only experience with N. venustus is in a 8x2x2 so they get along well with pretty much everything in that area, there's yellows, C. moori, Champsochromis sp. (unsure of Carel/Spilo), Dimi Comp - was some N. livingstoni in there too but if you're trying to breed it ain't a hot idea - if it's display only they'd be a good choice. So yeah, what sort of tank is it (purpose wise) & would you want to sell fry if there was any? With plenty of rockwork yellows would be safe enough for instance
YeW
In a 4' tank I'd agree with Ash, more female N. venustus (note the small "v"). They are better in bigger colonies anyway. I'd refrain from adding anything else.
Dusty Miller
I have a colony of N. venustus consisting of 1M & 4F's in a 5x18x18 along with a colony of Electric blues 1M & 5F's both breeding well and getting on fine. Cheers
JLL
If it is a display tank then I have various peacocks, yellows, a dolphin and a black calvus with some others and Fred (the venustus) gets on fine with them.
Lemonfish
Fish that aren't too small, they like to snap up anything they can get in or nearly in their mouth! If you wonder where your mouthfuls are ending up....wonder why your Venustus are getting so big!
