A survey of sorts...

I recently started working for a large Victorian petstore/aquarium chain. The stores, despite being petstores tongue.gif , are going to be sort of "one stop shops" for everything, pet, reptile and aquarium needs.

I'm aquarium & fishroom manager, so I have to stock the new stores with everything a real aquarium would have. So what I was wanting people to help me with is, list all the brands/products/foods/equipment you use on a regular basis, or just anything you reckon a decent aquarium should have. I have a fair idea of most stuff...but I keep a pretty limited range of fish (CATFISH!), so I need a few different perspectives blush.gif

I really appreciate any help you guys can give me smile.gif

Hi Shaun

i would spend a few weekends or any spare days visiting all the aquarium stores in Melbourne that would really give you the best insight of what is needed. And perhaps take some notes not in the store , i have seen some really great stores here that stock just about everything you need,

The fishroom of store 1, has 46 tanks. The other store has 38.

As for variety of stock...um its probably best if I explain it like this: Reptiles, fish are and birds are in subdivided (walled off etc.) sections of the stores (forgot to mention store 1 is 1500 sq mts and store 2 is 2100 sq mts) so each section will be like a "shop within the store". So the aquarium/fish fish section will be a real aquarium, not the fish section of a petstore, and the reptile section (which is also under my management blush.gif ) will be like a specialist reptile dealership, and so on.

So I want these stores to be fully stocked, I don't want them to be the sort of place people buy fish from (because the prices will be awesome!), but have to go somewhere else for their equipment, chemicals, food etc. I want them to have a better range then most other (ALL) aquarium stores.

So I just wanted a good cross-section of what people want, need, buy and use!
