edas
Hi All, Desperately trying to find black sand (natural) in the Sydney metro area. I know of the place in Newcastle that stocks it but haven't got time to make the round trip. Has anyone sourced any recently? Cheers Edas

Cheers Edas ← I know the pet shop in broadway shopping center has natural black sand but its for reptiles but can not see why you could not use it in a tank small bags at $9.00 will cost a lot. Hurstville aquarium has fine black gravel not sure if that helps. I have been looking for fine red sand myself will be posting a pic soon to see if anybody can help. Bruce
Fine red sand. I believe they use that for reptiles aswell. It's an ochre sort of colour, a very deep reddy brown. Bruce

Bruce ← Thx Bruce I have tried one type of reptile sand must have clay in it as it will not come clean. You think you have it let it sit for one night and it's all muddy again. There is one type I have not found yet the same brand as the black gravel very fine it may work.
