limegirl
I currently have a pair of breeding normal BNs in a two footer, and a pair of albino BNs in a four footer. Unfortunately the four footer also contains some Empire Gudgeons, and I am worried that if the Albinos spawn (the young female is full of roe for the first time) the Empires will take the fry. So, if I move the albino pair in with the normal pair, will they 'know the difference' and spawn with their prospective partners, or will the dominant (I would assume normal) male get all the action? Cuong
They're the same species so they won't know the difference. Is there any chance of moving the gudgeons instead?
mark_1
yer dont move the albino BNs in with the normal BNs there would be a high chance of cross breeding i grow up albino and normal fry together but once they reach that size i seperate them
limegirl
The gudgeons can't be moved because I have baby commons in one tank, and baby farlowella in the other tank - I guess I will just have to keep trying to convince the albino male to set up shop in a movable flower pot and give the eggs to the common male to look after. I could move them in with the farlowellas, but I am only running sponge filters on that tank to protect the tiny babies, and I don't know if they'll handle BNs.
