The most common one is the 'N' neutraliser block, and the six adjioning squares ammonia block. I have been using them, but I don't know if they are necessary. PSi4EVA Posted January 16, 2004 Share Posted January 16, 2004 Hi, I did use the 6 block ammonia blocks for a while on my inital setup (20 L). It seemed to help, though that isn't based off measured ammonia levels, but the fact fish didn't die and the tank had 10 small fish and it was 1 week old (first shot at fish keeping). So yeah, I probably wouldn't recommend them for something like a 200L setup but for a smaller tank, it would give me some piece of mind.
