Satanoperca
I have a 4 x 2 x 2 setup as a South American biotype with green horseface and redhumps, many bristlenose and had 3 pictus catfish. I have had the three for about 1 year and had grown large. All were healthly three days ago. The tank parameters tested were execellent and nothing has changed except I opened some new Color tetra bits this week. In the last three days, each morning I have woken to find a dead pictus. The last of the three to be found dead this morning. No other fish is displaying any signs of stress or illness. The dead pictus had no marks or signs of illness. Does nayone have any explanation as to why this may have happened? I am dumb founded by this loss as I have not had any deaths for over a year. Satanoperca
they dont like acidic water ← Ph was 6.9, nitrite, ammonia were 0 as usually. I have no explanation at all, opened the last one up, no worms or anything that looked unusual. It is not all that bad, the bristlenose can breed again with a survival rate better than 2. I bought the pictus to reduce the number of new bristlenose from breeding in the tank. I will wait for some more of the L168's to come in and get a couple as replacements.
