Breeding bichirs?

Check out a site called aquatic predators.

pretty good info on breeding birchirs-however this section is being retyped atm and so all you will see are posts etc-check back soon and you will see a lot of info

Also a book called Jurassic fishes-discuss senegal breeding.

I Have a 30cm albino female for $700

I also have a trio of 15cm albino am growing up and 3 ornates at 20cm but unsure of sexing of the ornate.

I hav e spawned sengalus a number of times. The easy bit is the spawning, the hard bit is hatching and raising the fry. I will post up a bit of a report on 'how to' that I wrote for a few US based sites. In the mean time check out the site in my sig, ALOT of VERY knowledgable bichir keepers that could help you far more then anyone else in Aus could.

Look out for the member 'brooklamprey' and 'Eamericanus' both will be more then willing to answer all your q's.

Yeah I've been looking at the AP site ever since I've been interested in the bichirs. Lots of good info thumb.gif

i remember Alex was able to get one of his senegalus to hatch .

And his is right, the most difficult part is hatching the damn eggs.

I trigger my senegalus to breed by doing a large water change but no luck in hatching.
