hungsta
Hey guys, I have 2m and ~10f in a 4fter with 5 logs. For months now, there is always one male fanning the eggs in the exact same cave. How do i get the other male to breed as well? Hung
Colfish
Hung don't overly worry about it. as in other fish, there is also 1 dominant male b/n in any colony. he can, [and will] handle all the eggs from a few f/m's at any one time let 'em be, they know what to do. all you have to do is scoop out the fry. cheers
hungsta
Hmm... So im guessing more males wouldnt change this behaviour? Is this common with bristlenose? PS: They love your driftwood
gianniz
in general NO. bristlenose girls will only mate with alpha males and sometimes 2-3 girls will lay their eggs in at the same time with the alpha male.. only way to get the other boy working is by splitting them up.
