Cuong
Currently I'm keeping a colony of Black Calvus (8 fish) and some of their fry. But hopefully in a short while I would like to keep some White Calvus. What I would like to know are the differences in the species apart from their colouration/name. I've seen my Black Calvus' base colour turn to white with mood so how would I tell when I'm purchasing them? I've googled up one site that said only white Calvus have spots on their ventral fins, but I've seen spots on the ventral fins of my own Calvus Any ideas? teflon
I think colouration is about the only way to tell with "calvus" species. Your black calvus should look nothing at all like white calvus and if they do then I think that there is call for concern. Also "Sumbu shell" also look very different from black calvus. My old calvus also displayed the ventral fin spots HTH Adam
