Williebubba
G`day i just bought a synodontis Eupterus, and i've been observing him. In the day he never comes out of some drift wood i have in the tank. but in the night i find him around the rocks. in the night he always swims upside down. he is only young and i was wondering are they nocturnal and will he swim upside down forever. my neighbour said that when they grow up they swim upright and come out alot more in the day, is this true? novafishy
THey are mainly nocturnal fish. Mine were always hiding throughout the day, and during the night would come out like yours. WHen the get big, they usually swim the right way up, i guess its a weight issue? hehe! maybe take out the piece of driftwood he's hiding in to allow more viewing pleasure. Williebubba
o ok nice one, yeh its annoying hey. i didnt buy him so that he could just hide in a piece of wood. i probably wont take the wood coz it looks to good. do u feed your synodontis special food or do they just eat left overs? novafishy
he normally eats the flakes / pellets that fall to the ground, but every few nights i drop in some shrimp pellets and algae wafers to munch on. how big is yours atm?
Lepperfish
Dont worry about them going hungry.. They'll be the fastest growing in your tank as well..
Ant
I agree. Mine grew several cm's in a fortnight and continued that way. Mine get to the same amount of food as the cichlids, if not more. Anthony
