G`day i just bought a synodontis Eupterus, and i've been observing him. In the day he never comes out of some drift wood i have in the tank. but in the night i find him around the rocks. in the night he always swims upside down.

he is only young and i was wondering are they nocturnal and will he swim upside down forever. my neighbour said that when they grow up they swim upright and come out alot more in the day, is this true?

THey are mainly nocturnal fish. Mine were always hiding throughout the day, and during the night would come out like yours.

WHen the get big, they usually swim the right way up, i guess its a weight issue? hehe! LOL.gif

maybe take out the piece of driftwood he's hiding in to allow more viewing pleasure. bigsmile.gif

I agree. Mine grew several cm's in a fortnight and continued that way. Mine get to the same amount of food as the cichlids, if not more.
