TropheusQueen
Hey hey, There are plenty of threads in this forum to follow, as well as in the FAQ section. At 8-10cm, they are ready to start playing house. the shell may be okay but be warned some bristlies are very particular about their housing, while some will breed without a cave (just some log space). Check out the other posts and you will learn heaps. Cheers Aline
canerod
for breeding i have used 2 types of housing successfully, an upside down terracotta saucer 100mm diameter and 20mm deep with a 30mm x 15 mm piece cut from the rim, and a 50mm piece of 90mm storm water pvc with 2 end caps and again a hole about 30mm x 15mm. Both worked well and allowed me to see inside with torch to see the eggs and monitor their progress. At 80cmx40cmx35 high my tanks are a little bigger than a std 2ft but that shouldn't matter too much. My male and female are both about 8-9 cm long.
