Also make sure it is not too hot and that you keep an eye on the turtle at all times. Lounge room - no!

Author: slotha

Like FF said, let him go walkabout outside. You could even make a small area with some chicken wire so he doesn't runaway. They can be VERY quick.
Depending on its size be weary of birds. Also make sure he has some shade if he needs to get out of the sun.
Tim

Author: slotha

Hi Charlie, i just saw a pic of your turtle and he is very small!! I wouldn't be leaving him outside on his own unless he has a bird-proof enclosure. He would make a nice little meal for a bird.
I wouldn't leave him in intense heat either. He would soon fry in the sun on a warm day. If you can find an area with dappled shade, that would be perfect
You wouldn't happen to know if the Northern Snake Necked are the same as Eastern Snake Necked do you?
Goodluck
Tim

Author: Fish Fanatic

I think they are basically the same, just found in different parts of the country.

Author: new starter

well thanks for the help everybody, and yeah my turtle is a very very small one, there is a photo of him on my homepage.
well yeah the eastern and northern snake neck are basically the same except they look a little different. but they have the same qualitites.

thanks alot everybody for the help

Author: E4G13M4N

Northern and Eastern long neck turtles are 2 different species ..

You can let them wonder around on the lounge floor, but it is of no benefit to do so if you are trying to give them sunshine ? Other than exercise.

^Mark^
