sikkfish
i went by a shop yesterday and saw that they had some fireblue peacocks for sale. I am wondering is there such a thing or is it another name for one of the other aulonocara's?

Mazimbwe
If there is such a fish is not the real question you should be asking, IMHO. The qestion to ask the LFS is if they can provide you with a correct name and location of the fish they are selling. Then go and do a lot of Homework to find out if they are the real deal or just named something that is close. Never trust a trade name...specially with Peacocks. Anita_ozfish
There is a Protomels taeniolatus 'Fire Blue' and then there are lots of blue peacocks (Aulonocaras). Who knows what the shop is selling. They could be a cross but most likely they have "created" a name to make the fish sound more appealing to you As Maz said, you would need to find out the scientific name for the fish and then do LOTS of homework. If the fish do happen to be a cross, chances are some will look like each of the 2 species and may look ok without actually being ok. Another good look at all the fish themselves would help - study the body and head shape and see if you can find variations or if they are all consistant. Try and get some happy snaps too
