[-fireStorm-]
what are some s. american dwarf species that are not too expensive, and suitable to be kept in a very stict discus biotope?by stict i mean: blackwater, sand, driftwood, leaf litter, absence of living plants etc.thanks.-shaun
Melbourne_Bill
HiI would suggest that many of the Apistogramma species (aggassizi, borelli, hongsloi, pandourini, njsseni) would love that type of biotope. I would however be a little cautious about putting A cacatuoides in a true discus biotope unless you could get some wild ones

[-fireStorm-]
Why are A. cacatuoides unsuitable for a true blackwater biotope, unless wild-caught?-Shaun
Th0mas
Commercially bred A. cacautoides has been slowly bred with neurtal water condition over many generations and most probably lost the ability to adapt to the lower pH range.Thomas.
