Ash
unless it's just the lighting in your photos - yours look more orange than either of the two on Planetcatfish, though the pattern does resemble L168 more closely than L52 Sorry no plec expert, just posting what I thought was obvious
gianniz
actually these fish change colour from brown to Bright Orange with Black stripe. Quite Stunning
MicksGotFish
Def the L168 IMO because the stripes are identical.... and body shape etc focas on the head of the plec....
hoges
Yep I agree, I'm thinking L168, the facial markings give it away!!!
r.d.m
i tend to agree with mick on the head pattern ,but , L52 is supposed to have a more orange base colour which you have , those head stripes are pretty distinctive but can change as the fish grows , unfortunately all i can suggest is wait and see , one thing is certain though , their lovely fish and im envious , is there a big difference in price between L52 andL 168 ? gianniz
they are both awesome looking fish. L168 seems bit more common in AUSTRALIA (tiny bit!) in other parts of the world its the other way around Any expert catfish breeder wants to try breed them (well first you gotto fork out a second mortgage) pm me and I will tell you where to get them from. jamos
Didn't really have a good lok but from memory it looks similar to a L135 jamos
kevkoi
L135s are wormline pleckoltia!! The Butterflies don't look remotely similar to them. IF you are thinking of L134, then there may be some similiarity, but L134 is a much deeper bodied fish than the butterfly plecos, they are very flat fish. Boots n all
It is not a L135 that l am sure of l dont think it is the L052 either, the pattern over the nose if different. l would vote L168
MikeWs Fish
I'm far far far away from being any kind of catfish expert, but comparing the photos it looks alot like a L168. L168 has a nicer patter than L052 IMHO.
Ant
L168 i'd say aswell based on the photos, it states on planet catfish that they change colour very fast, have you noticed this? Anthony
