Peter_Gun_Riff Posted December 20, 2003 Share Posted December 20, 2003 my females red empress has let her fry out for a swim this morning and i noticed not egg sac. their in a 6 ft tank so how would i go about feeding them? will i have to strip her? id rather go natural and led her go full term. Anita_ozfish Posted December 20, 2003 Share Posted December 20, 2003 i noticed not egg sacSounds to me like they are full term already if I understand you correctly and they have no egg sac.If this is the case and they are in community 6' tank, then you need to catch the female while the fry are being held and milk the fry into a separate tank or container of their own. Otherwise other fish will start to pick off the fry - a few may survive if they hide well enough.You will be able to feed the fry whatever the adults get but in a smaller size. Crushed flake, pellets put through a peppergrinder, live food, frozen daphnia or brine shrimp - lots of things.HTH and good luck Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
