wui39
I was wondering about shell grit, will it buffer a tank properly or will I have to add additional stuff to ensure the right composition.
Ben
Depend on lots of things. Size of the tank, amount of water and the amount of shell grit.I use lots of coral sand in my tanks and it isn't doing the job now days. So hard to say whether it will be enough or not. You can only give it a go and measure your KH GH and PH and see if it’s working.I would say you will have to add something to keep it up there. The shell grit will help.Cheers
YeW
Shell grit alone will buffer the water to around 7.8-8.0 when used as a standard depth (2cm ish) substrate.
