Huyey
In the past, I have normally set up my tank from scratch with new tanks and new filters and it takes over a month to cycle (with ammonia and nitrite spikes). My 6' tank was set up over 2 weeks ago. The tank I received came with a bio wheel filter that does 300g/hr. It had bacteria living in the filter already and I added 3 large convicts in there to cycle the water. I did not get an ammonia or nitrite spike at all. I have done daily water tests and the readings are zero for both . In this case, is it safe to add my new fish in the tank? Has the tank been properly cycled? Thanks,Huy
E4G13M4N
Sounds to me you should be able to add a few fish, just dont increase stock too much in one hit ..

mulva
Whenever you use old water, filter, and or substrate you can usually start adding fish much sooner. Like everyone else said though add in small amounts. Too many fish at once can cause huge spikes.
