edward
Hi Guys,I bought guppy fry awhile ago with the intent to breed them as feeders for my bass. They have had the first batch of fry.I am now wondering will there be a problem with inbreeding? What are your views on this? Ok to do it? : Ed
BLACKBAR
does it matter how they turn out if they are going to be eaten anyway????? does it make any difference if you cut your sandwiches into triangles or rectangles???

wui39
the problem with inbreeding is that it causes genetic effects that will eventually distort the fish. Guppies also sometime shave the problem of deformed backs after having too many babies. I don't see why the fish should not be edible, I suppose if you feel that feeding them is okay then having deformities in them will also not be a great issue.I haven't heard eating deformed fish or animals will cause you to have deformities, except if the deformities are from radiation then perhaps................ edward
I'm more worried about the condition of the fish, like will it be more susecptible to carrying diseases etc...Deformaty isn't too big an issue as they are feeders.
wui39
Well defomities usually will kill a fish if its that bad. Carrying deisase, well if other fish aren't carrying it then it shouldn't spread to the deformd ones.
