Flashgordon
I've recently done my 4 monthly(ish) clean on my Eheims - 2 x 2028s per tank. In each filter I have found to my surprise a nice present - in the filters from the tropheus tank, three tropheus at about 2 cm each and in the filters from the Malawi tank 4 stepheni at about the same size. I am gobsmacked, the water in the filters was, hmm, dirty, and sediiment laden and the light must have been non existent. Nonetheless, nice healthy fish that are thriving in their now new spacious and clean environment... Resilient little buggers, really. I guess that is motivation to clean the filters a little more regularly

rick
I often find fry in the bottom of my filters when I clean them, but usually they are very pale and the eyes are usually defomed and/or very cloudy. I haven't tried putting them back into the tank yet to see what happens. I usually jut stick them in the freezer before putting them in the bin. I plan on cleaning out my filter again once my females that are currently holding realease so it will be interesting to see what I find in there. Flashgordon
Rick I encourage you to add them to the tank. All of mine are healthy and thriving. They were pale to start with, but took about 30 minutes in the tank to look absolutely normal
BlakeyBoyR
I agree, put them in tank. What do you have to lose?
