Maybe a few candles too. Give some dim lighting, on with the soft love songs and give them some quiet time alone.

Ok bad joke, sorry, couldn't resist.

Seriously, no actual way of 'breeding them'.. Like all fish just provide the right situation, male and females, in a space where they are thiving and comfortable, and they will breed. Temp 25, soft water, plenty of hiding space and a fairly large-ish tank (these blighters grow to 20-25cm).. etc... Maybe if you want you could do a 25% water change every week and the water you add be a few degrees colder than the tank water - this can sometimes trigger spawning. I find that works for my discus and other americans every time. You'll probably find it's similar for G.Jurapari.

Oh, and by the way, the Jurapari are naturally one of the more difficult Geophagus species anyway, and succeptable to disease easy.... It may take some time so be patient

Cheers,
Adam

Author: Boots n all

l have breed these fish for a number of years, get 6 or 7 young fish, some wood and a couple of flat stones and the rest will happen when they are ready.
This latest lot my son set up are about 18months old and are on their 4th spawning, l am in Melb. if you want we have fry for sale.

Author: lungy01

Breeding them is hard enough , and getting "good"
ones is even harder .
