Rolla
Hi guys, currently have 2 male britlenose aproaching breeding size, id like to get them a female around the same size (7-8cm) and start breeding them..Now id probably only habe the 2 males and 1 maybe 2 females in the tank, so what is the smallest tank id want to do this with as space is limited..Cheers Dave
Ben
A standard 2 footer would be heaps of room for them and all there fry.You only need one female also. The males tend to the eggs so 2 males and one female will be plenty, two girls won’t heart but one is all that is needed for both males to fan eggs. Rolla
Thanks for the reply Ben..I was thinking 2ft aswell but was wondering if a smaller tank would work?Consider there will be 3 fish in there untill the fry arrives???I have a spare 2ft ATM that will be used for malawi fry, i read that bristlnose dont breed aswell in african water is this correct? If thats not true then i guess ill just throw all 3 in the 2 ft...
Ben
I guess you could go smaller. An 18 inch tank would be two small I would think.
E4G13M4N
As you intend to breed them and will need room for the fry i would use a 2'er at least
